REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager – Regional Anesthesia & Vice President, Marketing  

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for driving the Sales of the ACTion Pain Pumps via both Block Programs and Incisional Placements.  Maintain and grow the current Sales of Ambu ACTion Pain Pumps in both the Hospital and Surgical Center markets as it pertains to Block Programs and Incisional Placements to meet corporate growth objectives.


  • Work with targeted Surgical, Anesthesia, and Nursing specialties, to qualify new leads and advance the sales process through sales calls and/or in person
  • Coordinate current targeted block programs within the territory to include: selecting the evaluation units, negotiating the quantity of product, length of the evaluation, training of Account and Distributor personnel and working with Ambu resources on scheduling of sales and service support.
  • Provide clinical training to Surgeons, Surgical PAs, RNFA's, Anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and other specialties on techniques for using of the ACTion pumps for Block & Incisional Cases (catheter placement for Incisional cases).
  • Manage Key Opinion Leaders product evaluations and develop maintain relationship with leading post-op pain experts. Call on all buying influences to position the products value to meet customer's needs.
  • Manage account strategies to include committee presentations, product evaluations and executive suite proposals.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive activity regarding pricing and sales and marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Must respond to customer needs promptly and build lasting relationships with existing accounts.
  • Maintain & Establish a diverse Pipeline with accounts that are categorized as having a short, intermediate, & long sales cycle in collaboration with the account managers and regional sales directors.
  • Perform periodic Market Research / Clinical Assessments and various administrative tasks as required.
  • Conduct all transactions and manage all relationships with a high degree of integrity.


  • Using standard method of transportation, travel to client locations.
  • Perform written communications to correspond with clients and superiors.
  • Perform verbal communications to clients and company personnel.
  • Must be able to physically lift up to 25lbs


  • Up to 75% overnight travel to support assigned region
  • Training sessions may be held on evenings and weekends as needed
  • Participate in Regional and National Sales Meetings


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent in work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Operating Room/PACU experience
  • Professional Registered Nursing or other clinical background preferred
  • Experience as clinical trainer/specialist for medical devices preferred
  • Experience/knowledge of pain management and disposable pain pumps preferred
  • Familiar with postoperative pain therapies: nerve block, wound infiltration other and the use of pain-pumps
  • Strong understanding of Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center structure and role of personnel.
  • Located anywhere in the Southeast - Will cover the Southeast
