Objective:

Provide leadership assistance to the Supervisor.  Lead designated Production Teams to achieve daily safety, quality, and production and personnel management responsibilities with a focus on training.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for ensuring on-time movement of materials and components to/from lines in an effort to minimize lost time.
  • Accountable for Reconciliation of materials and material counts.
  • Administration of the mentor training program.
  • Monitor mentor performance and make recommendations to training supervisor on mentor eligibility.
  • Understand and administer training growth charts.
  • Conduct regular meetings with new hires and mentors.
  • Training input and assignment into the LMS system.
  • Train employees on QHB and INS changes.
  • Perform employee certifications.
  • Act as a fill in for Assistant Supervisor as needed
  • Perform the duties of Lead, Manufacturing when necessary
  • Responsible for reporting production lines performance on hourly and shift basis.
  • Audit and enforce 5s standards of organization.
  • Responsible for escalating to the Supervisor any safety concerns.
  • Responsible for quality control of processes and product and the conformance to standards. 
  • Monitor employee break and lunch times to ensure compliance with policy.
  • Audit and assure the proper documentation of line control documents and forms.
  • Ensure that all procedures for assembly of sub-assemblies and finished product are followed in accordance with approved written procedures, and are in compliance with cGMP's and gowning SOP's.
  • Provide leadership for on-going training of employees in the team in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) and Standard Work Instructions (SWI)
  • Collect information for and conduct the shift hand off as determined by the sustainability plan.
  • Monitor the rotation of all Team members in consideration of the ergonomic factors.
  • Provide regular feedback to Supervisor regarding individual employee training.
  • Provide input to the Supervisor for the preparation of performance evaluations.
  • Foster an environment of open communication with all employees.
  • Communicate to the Supervisor and/or Production Mgr. any problem, idea, or solution which pertains to the Production department and/or its interaction with other departments.
  • Conducts root cause analysis, problem solving and engage employees in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Giving work assignment to production assemblers in accordance to the staffing plan.
  • Participate in Kaizen as requested.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time
  • Ability to write legibly and perform written documentation in compliance with document control procedures.
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime in accordance with production needs

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor productivity and performance levels of the Team; their production targets and quality levels are met or exceeded.
  • Lead the production and assembly of product.
  • Ensuring efficient start/stop of the production lines.
  • Escalation of poor line performance or line/machine downtime to peers and production leadership for resolution.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by auditing and correcting at risk conditions.
  • Ensuring safe conduct by/for all operators in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure Team has the production supplies and tools necessary to perform their production duties.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform routine math calculations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents of instruction.
  • Must speak, read, write and comprehend English.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Is adaptable to changing conditions and can demonstrate good leadership in difficult times.
  • Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong self-initiative and decision making skills.
  • Computer skills (Outlook/Word/Excel/Movex highly desirable)
