Reports to: Marketing Director - GI

Location: Remote  

Position Summary:

Responsible for designing, implementing and executing educational programs for Ambu's Gastroenterology (GI) salesforce and Clinical Training Specialists (CTS). The National Sales Trainer (NST) will have a thorough understanding of the customer, their needs and the evolving marketplace to ensure sales and clinical representatives are effective in selling to and supporting our customers with Ambu GI solutions. The candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the field organization is prepared to not only engage customers on the features and clinical elements of our products, but also on the financial, operational, and strategic aspects of our portfolio.

The NST will play a critical role in designing new training curricula and will be instrumental in developing new and innovative ways to deliver both new hire training programs as well as continuous education following best practices in adult learning. In addition, the NST will ensure that the CTS works according to defined processes and will support with new tools and training.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders (Medical Director, Marketing, R&D, Sales Management, HR, Health Economist, RA/QA, etc.) to develop and execute new hire and continuing training for Ambu's GI salesforce and CTS on products and best practice sales processes.
  • Deliver training through multiple channels (e.g. classroom, e-learning, conferences, and regional/national sales meetings)
  • Assist with creating and refining training content and delivery methods
  • Build field sales and clinical trainer competence in the following areas to drive sales effectiveness: clinical competence, technical knowledge, customer understanding, healthcare economic strategies, and sales process
  • Become subject matter expert with an in-depth knowledge of Ambu's GI products, customers and business objectives
  • Utilize metrics to assess effectiveness of educational programs and quickly implement changes to educational programs, if applicable
  • Partner with each Field Sales Trainer (FST) to identify, develop, and address training needs for new and existing reps
  • Remain engaged with the salesforce to stay abreast of market changes (e.g. current selling techniques, competitors, and clinical and healthcare environment) to ensure employees are adequately trained with the most up to date information
  • Work with the Marketing team to ensure activities and objectives are met within the allocated budget parameters
  • Provide weekly/monthly activity status updates and key activity reports to the Medical Director and Marketing teams
  • Mentor new and existing CTS
  • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments
  • Participate in clinical presentations for major GPO/IDNs
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including internationally (e.g. training at HQ, GPO/IDN meetings, ride alongs with the GI salesforce)
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications /Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, business related field, or equivalent degree
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or GI Technician required
  • 6+ years training experience in medical device or equivalent sales, marketing or clinical experience
  • Proficient in all clinical, modality, and technical application of GI endoscopy products and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to design programs and teach to adult learners
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated willingness and passion for educating others
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify and explain complex topics effectively
  • Creativity and willingness to develop optimal solutions to complex problems within defined constraints
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a timely manner
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license, willingness to fly
