Reports To: Commercial Data Systems Senior Manager

Location: Columbia, MD

Position Summary:

The CRM Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering a complex CRM implementation from solution assessment and selection, through proposal development, and to post-implementation close-out. You will also manage the installation, configuration, and various system integrations required to ensure that the CRM solution implemented meets the business objectives of stakeholders and sponsors – including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. You will also manage multiple work streams and deliverables to successful completion by target date – planning, budgeting, overseeing, and documenting all aspects of the project in accordance with traditional project management methodologies. In addition, you will coordinate implementation phases with affected departments, leverage your experience to drive business and technical team execution in accordance with industry standards, as well as assess impacts and help develop strategies to navigate the organization through change. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute project scope, goals, and deliverables that meet business objectives
  • Lead requirement workshops with business users and stakeholders to capture agreed and prioritized business objectives and requirements
  • Translate business and conceptual user requirements into functional requirements
  • Assist in translation and prioritization of functional requirements into technical requirements for solution delivery
  • Analyze, verify, and manage all requirements (from capture through fulfillment) for completeness, consistency, clarity, feasibility, traceability, and conformity to standard SMART criteria
  • Organize and lead meetings and communications with CRM vendors to identify vendors that can meet requirements (i.e. conduct gap-fit analysis)
  • Organize and lead meetings to select final 2 or 3 vendor candidates with proactive recommendation and rationale.
  • Work with stakeholders to finalize vendor selection and impact assess gap requirements
  • Work with executive management to negotiate CRM vendor contracts and requirements
  • Work with executive management to develop and execute user acceptance test plan including assisting with complete documentation and result archiving
  • Set and manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones

Qualifications /Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
  • 5+ years' work experience in a software implementation project management capacity
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (preferred, but not required)
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, preferred
  • Proficient in producing analysis documents and testing and development of test plans
  • Previous experience working with a medical device company is preferred, but not required
  • Hands-on project management, must be able to execute the entire project lifecycle from concept to deployment
  • Experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, systems, or products
  • Knowledge of proprietary CRM solutions such as: MS Dynamics, Salesforce, Sugar preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with CRM solutions in Garner Group Leadership quadrant:  Salesforce, Pegasystems, Microsoft, Oracle, Zendesk.
  • Strong project management skills, including influencing skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables to successful completion by target date – planning, budgeting, overseeing, and documenting all aspects of the project.
  • Experience with project delivery responsibilities for complex projects from proposal development to post-implementation close-out
  • Manages and tracks risk appropriately, escalating issues with a focus on root cause resolution and long term solutioning
  • Knowledge of conducting basic statistical calculations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven success in developing client relationships and managing client expectations
  • Strong attention to detail
