Location: Columbia, MD

Key Success Factors

  • Develop product and market strategies to optimize sales and profitability of product lines, in accordance with marketing plan.
  • Execute market strategies to achieve product line revenue, contribution and market share targets
  • Developing a clear positioning and pricing strategy
  • Efficient training and support tools to sales team
  • Identify growth segments and opportunities

Responsibilities and decision competencies:

  • Development of product and market strategies as input to marketing plan.
  • Continuously monitor product area progress and provide quarterly business analysis report to VP Marketing
  • Use business intelligence skills to evaluate market trends and develop segment penetration opportunities and targets
  • Analyze and develop optimal market positioning and pricing
  • Development of business cases for investment in marketing activities and new product development
  • Development of market communication plan for product areas to ensure product and marketing messaging throughout all communication platforms
  • Brand management and development. Ensure brand consistency in product design and marketing communications including trade shows
  • Develop sales support tools targeting all key stake holders: Physician, Value Analysis, Purchasing etc.
  • Collaboration with sales management to evaluate and validate effectiveness of marketing strategies and programs
  • Presentation to GPO committees
  • Develop education and training programs for end users
  • Develop education and training material for sales force
  • Develop KOL relationships where appropriate
  • Plan and manage new product launches
  • Market research to identify new clinical and market trends as well as unmet needs etc.
  • Evaluate product portfolio and gaps and provide input to R&D in development programs
  • Ensure that budget targets are being met
  • Provide input to supply chain for inventory forecasts

Communication responsibilities:

  • Quarterly presentation business status at monthly marketing meeting 
  • Quarterly key activity report (Product line sales/profit update, key marketing activities)
  • Ad hoc communication of  important information to relevant personnel
  • Sharing of Calendar and activity with VP Marketing

 Interfaces and coordination:

  • VP Marketing: Decisions of strategic importance as part of quarterly activity report, Goals, activity, strategic issues/opportunities, market trends
  • VP Sales:  Sharing of ideas, strategic issues/opportunities, dealer and customer related issues
  • VP Sales Operations: Communication on sales focus, effectiveness of marketing strategies, pricing policies etc.
  • QA/Operations dept: Product and Delivery issues
  • Customer Service: Product Related Issues
  • Supply chain; Input to inventory forecast

Travel

  • Extensive travel for participation in local, national, and international exhibitions
  • Co-rides with Account Managers,
  • Customer visits

Qualifications /Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in marketing, preferably in the field of medical devices
  • Urology experience preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and initiative
  • Efficiently manage large workflow and multiple projects at one time
  • Effectively build and maintain relationships with peers and colleagues across organizational levels
  • Develops relationships with executive team
  • Effectively brings ideas, proposals and business cases forward for consideration
  • Expertise with Microsoft office, especially Power Point and Excel
  • Analytical and budgetary experience.
  • Able to comprehend and analyze complex problems for business strategy
  • Experience assisting sales force
  • Experience with design, evaluation, validation of marketing strategies and programs
  • Experience with new product launches
