Objective:

Contributes to the organizational business plan and development by planning, organizing and administering human resource programs and policies.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Acts as human resources support for manufacturing.  Actively partners with functional management in development and accomplishment of the business plan. 
  • Actively participates in developing and implementing human resource departmental goals, objectives, programs, processes, policies and systems. 
  • Assists with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with functional and company-wide strategic goals.
  • Responsible for developing positive employee relations activities within partner group, and for effectively addressing employee relations problems or issues. 
  • Responsible for compliant administration of human resources practices, policies and procedures.  Analyzes practices, policies and procedures for improvement and supplies recommendations for solutions. 
  • Conducts training where necessary to implement new practices, policies, or procedures.
  • Proposes and implements continuous leadership development training for manufacturing leadership.
  • Provides counsel, advice and assists management partners with performance-related issues to ensure employees are meeting or exceeding performance standards.
  • Develops and implements performance improvement plans when necessary. 
  • Administers separation procedures including exit interviews for non-exempt employees
  • Complies with and is responsible for the proper administration of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for the site.
  • Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with human resource policies and procedures and the regulations to maintain limited exposure to lawsuits.
  • Prepares reports as necessary or required from human resources information system.
  • Encourages, recommends and implements continuous improvement measures within Human Resources responsibilities.  
  • Explain employee policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants. 
  • Complete job posting process, applicant screening, schedule interviews with candidates.
  • Supports special events as needed.
  • Proposes and implements plans to gather employee feedback regularly.
  • Analyzes and recommends actions based on employee feedback.
  • Serves as a backup for new hire orientations.
  • Serves as a backup for the payroll function as needed.
  • Perform routine audits, checks and verifications of specified human resources functions.
  • Ability to maintain flexible work hours to accommodate a 3-shift manufacturing site.        
  • All other duties as assigned.   

Authorities:

  • Discipline and terminate employees in accordance with company policy
  • Represent the company in legal matters
  • Access and make changes in the human resources information system
  • Access confidential employee records

Work Environment:

This is a manufacturing facility and as a result, employees have the potential to be exposed to noise, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, machinery, vibration or other workplace hazards controlled within compliance of current safety and health standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or business-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years' experience working in human resources in manufacturing.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office programs including Excel.
