Job Title: Director of Marketing, Urology and ENT
Reports To: Vice President of Marketing
Location: Columbia, MD
Position Summary: The Director of Marketing, Urology and ENT will lead the downstream marketing management activities and team responsible for Ambu's visualization and endoscopy portfolio for the urology, endourology, ENT, and Speech Pathology markets. This individual will be responsible for building, organizing, and managing the team, strategies, and execution required to ensure effective product launches, expected market adoption/share, revenue growth, and profitability in the business lines. This position is well suited for a highly organized leader with team building/developing skills applied with strategic-thinking and analytical approaches in marketing management and execution.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute on strategic marketing plans for Urology and ENT portfolios in the Endoscopy Solutions area - developing the marketing team, portfolio management plans, and the market strategies to optimize awareness/adoption, brand equity, business line revenue, and profitability of product portfolio
- Oversee the development and execution of marketing management activities; product launches, segment budgets, and annual strategic marketing plans in areas and contribute as needed to the day-to-day performance – including brand awareness and equity in North America
- Build, organize, develop, and manage the marketing management team for Ambu USA urology/ENT management endoscopy business lines
- Continuously monitor and report on portfolio and team performance – including financial performance, key objective achievements, competitive landscape, and KPIs - and provide monthly/quarterly business reviews and insights to the Vice President of Marketing
- Lead key cross-functional projects in building best practices in the product marketing management team
- Summarize, qualify, synthesize, and review the marketing management activities – such as ensuring business intelligence, product positioning/pricing, ongoing trends, promotional campaigns, sales support and tools, market opportunities, and business case/planning are managed, reported, and continuously improving by the marketing management team
- Oversee the market communication plan and goals for portfolios
- Oversee Ambu's brand in urology/ENT and ensure consistency in programs and Marketing communications, including trade shows and digital
- Ensure highly collaborative KOL/consultant relationships and advisory boards are utilized productively and to the growth of the business line
- Provide leadership/communication on business line and product performance inputs to Global Product Management on North American market regarding product needs, requirements, and long-term planning aspects
- Lead team in sales support tools targeting all key stake holders for the product area
- Lead team to develop education and training programs for sales force and end users, as needed
- Collaborate with sales management and other department management to ensure Marketing strategies and programs are effective and are communicated as needed
- Oversee collaboration across geographies and cross-functional teams to build internal support, report on business progress, and accomplish business goals and objectives
- Up to 40% travel related to tradeshows/conferences and customer visits in conjunction with local representatives
- Additional ad hoc duties, as needed
- Effectively build and maintain relationships with peers and colleagues across global organizational levels, and with the executive team
- Experience with design, evaluation, validation of marketing strategies and programs
- Consistently and effectively brings ideas, proposals and business cases forward for consideration
Qualifications /Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field, MBA a plus
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Healthcare Marketing, preferably in Medical Devices
- Experience in Urology or ENT and/or endoscopy, highly preferred
- Strong results orientation and analytical mindset
- Ability to effectively lead and manage projects and programs related to product launches and campaigns
- Proven people management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with new product development and launches, preferably in the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry
- Ability to interpret sophisticated financial analysis, formulate and plan to budgets
- Advanced communication and presentation skills required
- Strong ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems for business strategy
- Experience supporting a direct sales force
